The Role

As an iOS Developer at Born West, you will help architect, design, and develop high-quality iOS applications using modern Apple technologies. You’ll be involved across the full iOS application lifecycle — from architecture and development to deployment, optimization, and long-term maintenance.

You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to turn ideas into polished, production-grade mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop high-quality iOS applications using modern Apple technologies.
• Translate product requirements, specifications, and mock-ups into fully functional features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following iOS best practices.
• Collaborate with the team to define, design, and ship new features.
• Provide development estimates for assigned tasks and features.
• Identify, debug, and fix issues while continuously improving app performance and quality.
• Ensure application performance, stability, and responsiveness across supported devices.
• Maintain App Store releases, manage versioning, and support app updates.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients based in the US and Europe.
• Contribute to team knowledge-sharing, technical discussions, and skill-building initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

Core Requirements

• 3-5 years of iOS development experience with published apps or demonstrable project work.
• Strong proficiency in Swift with hands-on experience in SwiftUI and/or UIKit.
• Solid understanding of the full iOS application development lifecycle.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and software engineering principles.
• Experience with architectural patterns like MVC/MVVM.
• Good understanding of app lifecycle, memory management, concurrency, and multithreading.
• Experience with offline storage, background processing, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Core ML or MLX and AI/foundation-model integration in iOS apps.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and handling JSON-based communication.
• Familiarity with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and design principles.
• Familiarity with Push Notifications, Deep Linking, and Core Location.
• Basic understanding of web technologies and modern UI/UX standards.
• Working knowledge of Git and collaborative version control workflows.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Bluetooth / BLE, sensors, or hardware-integrated applications.
• Hands-on experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, Combine, etc.
• Experience integrating payment gateways in mobile applications.
• Familiarity with third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs.
• Strong focus on benchmarking, profiling, and performance optimization.
• Prior experience working on production-scale, consumer-facing apps.
